SOUNDLAG L, SOUNDLAG
P Sound Lag L & P are two types of noise insulation
blankets. They are designed to control noise breakout from ducting
and pipe work by externally wrapping to contain the noise within
the duct. They employ a decoupled mass technique i.e. a heavy
barrier layer isolated from the duct or pipe surface by a resilient
layer of insulation acting like a spring.
SOUNDLAG L
Sound Lag L is manufactured from two layers
of glass fibre with a lead core, and a re-inforced class 0 foil,
vapour barrier outer covering. The inner layer of glass fibre
is quilted with a scrim backing to prevent fibre breakout.
Sound Lag L is used in applications requiring a high level of
thermal insulation and improved sound absorption.
SOUNDLAG P
Sound Lag P is a cost effective, flexible polymeric barrier
mat, faced with class 0 foil vapour barrier and a non-irritant
polyester fibre inner layer.

SOUNDLAM
- ACOUSTIC LAMINATES
Not
in all cases can a particular problem be solved to satisfaction
by the use of a single material. In these cases we manufacture
Soundlam laminates. These are a range of noise insulation
laminates designed to provide high sound transmission loss
and good noise absorption. They consist of a heavy barrier
layer isolated from the structure and noise source by sound
absorbing acoustic foam. They are available in a range of
thicknesses and different barrier densities. Soundlams have
a wide range of uses such as Cab and Engine insulation, pump
and generator housings, the Marine Industry etc. Advice is
readily available in the use of Soundlams from our technical
sales department.

DAMPING COMPOUND
Sound Damping Compound (SDC) is a water based
co-polymer emulsion with various inorganic material fillers.
It is d easy to apply using commonly available spray equipment,
small areas may also be trowlled. As a monolithic material it
is easily applied around complex shapes.
The compound is an extremely efficient panel
damping material, effective in the suppression of vibration
and vibration generated noise. The selective grading of its
various fillers not only limit vibration therefore the generation
of sound, but also dampens sound waves passing through the SDC
layer.
SDC has very low smoke and toxic fume emission and is suitable
for use on GRP, primed steel, stainless steel, aluminium and
vitreous enamel panels.
It is used extensively in the construction industry on the internal
side of contoured roofs to suppress the rain noise, it is also
used on other large surface areas such as; floors, air conditioning
equipment etc.
